| The
Naples Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO)
is an elite musical group comprised
of the area's finest young
musicians . Students will learn jazz
ensemble and solo performance, and
play the music of the legendary
American jazz composers/arrangers,
and the classic Big Bands of Count
Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller
and many, many, more. |

Entry into the NYJO will be by
audition only, and will be open to
all musicians of high school age in
the greater
Naples area.
These young musicians will be
mentored by Bob Stone, Musical Director of The
Naples Jazz Orchestra (NJO), Mark Pettey, Asst.
Musical Director, and top section players. |

The
band will be comprised of twenty
(20) musicians: |
|
| |
- 5 - Saxophones
(two altos, two tenors, one baritone)
- 5 - Trumpets
- 5 - Trombones
- 5 - Rhythm
(piano, bass, drums, guitar, and percussion)
|
|
| |
The band will
rehearse weekly during most of the school year, and
will perform at the Cambier Park Band-shell along
with The NJO, and in separate concert venues. |
